Visdamax Malaysia provides semi or fully automated controllers for all of our equipment ranging from kiln controllers to boiler equipment and fuel handling and storage. Customized automated controllers for our equipment in the form of PLCs are standard on all of our plant controls. For more information, please follow the links below.
For these lines of equipment, we provide fully automated control systems in the form of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems for plant controls and SCADA (Optional) systems for data acquisitions. All systems come complete with graphic HMI controls on a PC with standard trending capability. The software for such systems are usually custom done to suit the project requirements.
As a standard, we normally supply ABB PLCs for our equipment along with the corresponding graphic HMI for controls. These are normally provided as on a centralized PC located in the plant control room. SCADA systems can also be implemented on request. However, we understand that many clients may have special preferences for controllers. As such, we also supply PLCs from the following manufacturers at our buyers' request.
- Allen Bradley from Rockwell Automation
- Modicon from Schneider Electric
- Siemens
And any others upon request (subject to enquiry).
Some key features of plant controls include:
- Fully automated controls.
- Data logging and acquisition for extended periods of time.
- Alarm logs and indicators.
- Remote access ability from off site available.
- Full instrument readouts.
- Animated graphics.
- Full engineering settings access available to key personnel.

Visdamax Malaysia can also sub-contract the controls software to a local programming company of your choice. Normally this is done when the buyer already has an in house or external arrangement with a local company that is curently servicing other equipment at site. We can also accept such arrangements and can work together if you wish.
For kiln controllers we provide several options from which you can choose from. The main 2 categories for controllers will be:
- Fully Automated Controllers
- Semi-Automated Controllers
For the majority of our projects, fully automated controllers are more popular as they have very many advantages over other traditional means of controls. They require minimal operator presence as the entire drying process is automated. They have low operating cost. The drying schedule is faster when compared with traditional means of control and they are very user friendly for data acquisition. Moisture probes or load cells are standard on all of these systems.
Semi-automated controllers on the other hand have the advantage of being cheaper than their fully-automated counterparts. However, they do have their drawback. The automatic operation mode for these systems are limited to that particular step of the drying schedule only. Should you need to have a step change, an operator is required to manually do so. Moisture probes are not standard on these systems as they are on fully-automated but the semi-automated system do have chart recorders for all other information.
We have several options of fully automated controllers from which you can choose from. For the majority of the projects, we use fully automated kiln controllers from:
-Lignomat
-Logica H and S
For some of our other projects, we use customized programs on a PLC unit for kiln controls. These are usually only done only on request.
Key features on our fully automated kiln controllers include:
- Standard moisture probes for continuous measure and acquisition
- Optional load cell moisture measurement depending on configuration
- Temperature probes for both wet and dry bulb
- EMC probes
- Modulating control valves for heating, spraying, vents and fan speed control
- Automated fan inversions
- Centralized PC controls up to 32 kilns (Selected models)
- Optional heat treatment
- Preloaded timber drying library for many species of wood
- Full data acquisitions capability with graphing display
